Shiri Appleby on HELLO GIGGLES

I have a huge love for good writing/great writing/inspiring writing and so far everything I’ve read by Ms. Shiri Appleby seems to do just that.

This article was about finally finishing college, and why she took the routes she did. It all depends on you and what you want out and how you are going to go about achieving it. What you want right now, might not be what you want later on. LOVED.IT.

Love knows no bounds…epitome of sexiness.

Love knows no bounds…epitome of sexiness.

Fill with water and cap. Place outside where the sunlight can strike the container for about 3 to 5 hours (or longer depending on intensity). Move the container if necessary to keep it in the sun. Refrigerate after and use up after a day or two. Use any tea bags or loose leaf you desire…(I mixed black tea, green tea, and passion fruit).
I strained the tea and put it in another container and then use this handy tumbler. :)

My Photo a Day: April Collage

(reposting photo for number references - if you care to figure it out!)

I thought this Photo A Day was a great idea when a friend sent it to me…and a saw others doing it as well. I wanted to wait all month, and make a collage out of all the ones I did…easier to share…and who does not love collages? I’m actually hoping to do more of these; I have found a lot of inspiring photography out there that fueled many different creative ideas out of me. Plus a lot is interpretation of meaning…words are wonderful aren’t they?

I took two different pictures for #2 & #4 and I couldn’t decide what to share, so decided on both.

Now I know #15 isn’t a sunset, but the sunrise can be just as beautiful if you wake up early enough ;).

I hope you liked my pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!!

Life Lessons by Phoebe Tonkin

“These are the things I learned:

  • Share everything.
  • Play fair.
  • Don’t hit people.
  • Put things back where you found them.
  • Clean up your own mess.
  • Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
  • Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
  • Wash your hands before you eat.
  • Flush.
  • Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
  • Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
  • Take a nap every afternoon.
  • When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
  • Be aware of wonder.
  • The biggest word of all - LOOK.

Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.” -ROBERT FULGHUM repeated by Ms. Phoebe Tonkin

This gave me pause today, as I read it, fathomed it, and then needed to pass it on.

I’m obsessed with flowers…this one is not only a beautiful one, but Hibiscus Tea with Ginger is AH-MAZ-ING!! (clicking photo will take you to a delicious recipe)

1920's...

Creative collaborations are great fun, but they’re also a smart marketing move! I love finding little collaborations like this 1920’s blog…to give me a bit more of inspiration…in which I try to get from anywhere I can!! I’m loving the pictures, the “travel back through time” mojo, and of course the stories that all 3 women write are incredible and filled with such passion and love it oozes deliciousness.

Writing as Therapy

Why does one write? Probably for a million reasons and more. Each thought brings upon more thoughts that are eventually scrabbled down, which then could lead to something bigger…something more.

I’m hoping that this entry may lead to that something more. It’s a domino effect kind of idea…one that I cannot take credit for, but one I very much wanted to pass on.

1. Buy a journal, a notepad/book, post it notes, etc.

2. Write down every day 3 things you are grateful for. (Can be the same thing if that is how you feel).

3. Reflect. (See where it leads you).

4. After a certain period of time (you decide), pass the book along to someone else with the fore-mentioned instructions. You could even leave instructions to return it to you once the journal is filled up. See where it all will lead.
